Yesterday James and I were driving to Value Village after work to find a Halloween costume for him, and as I often do, I reached over and patted his leg. I was about to say that he was nice and soft, but then I said, “wait a minute, you’re not soft at all. [...]
A random 9 year old boy, in the women’s washroom, wiped his nose on my sleeve. Yep. I walked in, and he made a beeline straight for me. I thought for a second, am I in the wrong one? Nope, no urinals, he must be in the wrong one here. [...]
James: “That’s about as smart as a chicken that doesn’t lay eggs, except on Tuesdays.”
Raced in a women’s alleycat this Saturday and took 7th place. It was really cleverly thought out and a lot of fun. I’m the proud new owner of a 40-tooth red chainring (which I’m really not sure what [...]

“Hey Elaine… tell me some sweet nothings.”
“Um, okay…. zero sugar cubes.”
“Haha, tell me another!”
“Empty jar of honey.”
“Okay. Now whisper loving sentiments in my ear.”
Yesterday and the day before I was crampy and SO TIRED and felt a general malaise all day. Eating [...]

James was consoling me yesterday, since I was upset about lovely cold fluffy snow and clear blue skies being washed away by stupid slushy rain. “Aww,” he said, “my leetle Elaine misses the snowiness.”

James loves the banana-peanutbutter smoothies for breakfast, so I made some today. We were sitting on the couch, drinking our smoothies, waiting for Arthur to come on, and he started shivering. Having finished my smoothie, I got up and put the blanket on him.
“No I want you, I don’t want a blankie! [...]
