Continuing with the domesticity

In the past couple weeks I have canned:

  • 5 quarts of dill pickles
  • 6 half pints blueberry jam
  • 6 half pints blackberry jam
  • 3 half pints corncob jelly
  • 5 half pints apple cider jelly
  • 7 quarts peaches

And I have a 26 oz. bottle full of mushy peach castoffs turning into booze.

Right now I’m drinking hot chocolate. I watched Tess of the d’Urbervilles tonight and cried for like half an hour, even though I totally knew what was coming. This afternoon I finished the heel for some lacy black socks I’m knitting, from the toe up - my first attempt at that.

I think this coming week I will can some tomato sauce, some salsa, maybe some whole tomatoes, and that should probably do me.
