home again

I was in Victoria for a week and a half. Rode my bike there in fact. 73 km, I averaged about 22 km/h. 3:18 riding time, 7 hours total including breaks, waiting for the bike shuttle, waiting for the ferry, and the almost-two-hour sailing time. Not bad.

I was at an Environment Justice Camp sponsored by the Anglican church. My old friend Billy from Toronto whom I hadn’t seen for 6-7 years was there, good times… and I met a bunch of awesome new friends. They invited me to come camping with them at Sombrio Beach which was a super good time, aside from the wicked sunburn.

I found out on Monday that one of my old friends from a few years ago died of a heart attack, at 26.
