Yesterday I took my bike to the shop to get built. It got mostly built, except for the part where he was trying to put the front wheel on and discovered that the dropouts were bent. He said he’d have to bend them back, it would take extra time, and I should come back today.
Turns out he can’t bend them back into shape. I need to find a new fork. Check out the bad-ass paint job I did. Now I have to find another fork and do it again. boo.
James and I went to Metrotown to drown my sorrows in consumerism. Canadian Idol auditions are going on there. There are huge crowds gathered around to watch from the balconies… but obviously the singing is not happening IN THE MALL ITSELF - ambient noise you know? It was just the registration desk thingy that was in the atrium area. Why would people stand around to watch a REGISTRATION LINE?
For Valentines Day we decided we are going to make boozed-up truffles with the blackberry port that’s been sitting in his cupboard for months.
