I've been wringing my hands all last night and this morning because with IAM down I had no place to post this:
I got a huge package (ha!) in the mail, you pervert, with a quilt that my grandmother made for me. It's off-white and green and purple with leaves and morning glories, and it's huge and queen-sized and BEAUTIFUL. She spent six months on it and it's the nicest thing EVER. I need some pictures.
Also last night I did the most complicated yarn manoeuvre of my career to date. I made a whole TON of mistakes four rows down. Yes four. I screwed up multiple times, did the purl side, then on the right side next row I didn't notice THEN, and did the purl side AGAIN and only noticed when I got to the terribly compounded mistakes on the next right side row. There were yarn overs in the wrong place. There were missing yarn overs. There were decreases in the wrong place. There were DOUBLE decreases in the wrong place. And my lifeline was like twelve rows down! I'll be damned if I'm going to undo 12 rows so I did the drop-fix-and-pick-back-up trick. I ended up having to undo a whole flower motif, five stitches wide and seven rows down, and do it up again. I felt like a knitting GODDESS by the time I was done. HA!
I'm still waffling on getting my tongue pierced.
