James’ cousin had an all-veg thanksgiving dinner tonight since her sister is a new vegetarian, and it was super nice. Lots of really good food and I feel way happier at an event which isn’t centred around a dead bird.
Also, James’ friend (and his old roommate… guy lives with James’ dad) is finally really engaged. It was totally a formality – in fact I thought the whole thing was silly, since they had a date and a church picked out and she even had a little wedding planning diary thing going on. What the hell’s the point? But he did the old take her for a hot air balloon and have huge letters on the ground trick. Good for them I suppose.
The other guy who lives with James’ dad is showing no signs of following suit though. The guy’s an absolute chick magnet, they are ALWAYS chasing him, and I guess he’s just really choosy or something.
Tomorrow I think we’ll get some more bike riding in. Visited some trails yesterday – it was all super easy and flat for the most part, but there were some really good stunts built in one part. Then off to Auntie Cindy’s! She lives wayyyy out in the middle of nowhere in the Columbia Valley.
Anyway, this is probably exceedingly boring, so I’m gonna go work on my knitting. But I’ll leave you with a funny conversation I had with James driving to the pool the other day.
Elaine: You know who else was a jerk? Gene Kelly.
James: Yeah, but she was hot.
Elaine: … what?
James: Oh… I don’t know who I meant.
Elaine: Jean Harlow maybe?
James: No… maybe Geena Davis?
Elaine: Are you kidding?
James: Yes. Uh, maybe Gene Wilder.
Elaine: ewwww!
James: No! Not him. Gene Simmons! yeah.
Elaine: Even worse! Oh wait, I was thinking Richard Simmons.
