no more stripper :(

I bought a can of paint stripper the other day, and applied it to my newly acquired bike frame today. I shoulda got the can of brush-on stuff since the stripper is gone, and only part of the paint is. And even that took some hard work. Gah!
I also have two forks, [...]

weekend

Saturday went to bike building bee. Found an old junky frame, ripped all the crap off it with the intent to build it up again… but couldn’t get the seatpost out no matter WHAT. Vice didn’t help. So that went in the garbage and I’m gonna try again with another one today.

[...]

Miyako Sushi

It’s the place right across from my office. Their stuff is about average I guess, not bad, nothing to write home about. Pretty good. But holy shit they’re fast! They take your order pretty much right when you sit down (a lot of people are regulars and already know what they [...]

Ethiopian night

I made this and this last night. Followed the recipe pretty much exactly, except I didn’t put any tomatoes in the potatoes and I didn’t make any rice or anything. And I used lemon juice instead of lime juice.
God only knows what I’m going to do with the rest of that big bag [...]

I think James needs to get some things straight

I’m sitting at his computer, wearing a fleece blanket. He walks over as it happens to slip off my shoulder.
“Oh no!” he exclaims, putting it back on. “You put your toga back on or you’ll freeze to death like a fig!”
What is it with him and figs today?

it's just HAIR

James got the worst haircut of all time yesterday. I swear I’d love to put a bag over that boy’s head till it grows out. Anyway, it ended in us having yelling match in a parking lot at White Rock beach. We always get sidetracked onto arguments about the argument. In [...]

finally!

I've been wringing my hands all last night and this morning because with IAM down I had no place to post this:
I got a huge package (ha!) in the mail, you pervert, with a quilt that my grandmother made for me. It's off-white and green and purple with [...]

yarn ho!

Here are a couple pictures of the Faroese Flower Shawl I’m knitting for my mom. Sorry for the blurriness of the second one :/ I wasn’t about to put it on waste yarn just for a picture either, so I couldn’t unbunch it to show where I’m at. But if you click [...]

full tummy!

James’ cousin had an all-veg thanksgiving dinner tonight since her sister is a new vegetarian, and it was super nice. Lots of really good food and I feel way happier at an event which isn’t centred around a dead bird.
Also, James’ friend (and his old roommate… guy lives with James’ dad) is finally really [...]

Lots of good things!

I got some bling for my labret yesterday - albeit quite SMALL bling, but it’s very nice.
Booked my Christmas train tickets. It’s still over two months away but I’m excited! I spent half the afternoon already looking at Amtrak’s virtual train tours.
For Thanksgiving I’m going to James’ Auntie Cindy’s along with the rest [...]
