I have five vacation days left that I need to take before the end of the year. One idea I had was to use a few extra days at Christmas (the 27th-29th are freebies since the office is closed) and take the train to my parents’ instead of flying. The train from Seattle to Louisville (well, to Indianapolis, and then the bus) costs $344 US return. I’ve had trouble finding flights that cheap, and I’d be going from Seattle anyway since I can’t find anything from Vancouver for under EIGHT HUNDRED. I could pull that off using three vacation days.
I think it’d be nice to take a couple days and do a scuba course or something as well.
