Yesterday James and I went to see his friend Josh’s band King Crab at the Lamplighter. WEIRD! They are a bunch of dorks. But talented dorks that play funky music. Josh looked like one of the kids I hung out with in grade 9 (circa 1996 if you must know) but transported to the present. Short, skinny, baggy white t-shirt, non-descript jeans, plaid button-down shirt tied around his waist… and orange earmuffs. The kind you wear to the firing range. But crazy with the guitar!
Even more strange was this guy at the pub with at least two lovely young ladies. I guess he was their sugar daddy… old guy, 50′s maybe, bald with that half-circle of hair around the bottom of his head, looked a bit like a Middle Eastern dictator (just a generic one, certainly not any current/recent specific one) and a very nicely cut grey suit pants/jacket with a red tie. Who goes to a pub like that? Especially the LAMPLIGHTER? Anyway the ladies were all over him.
I’m at work now and I think I’m going to have lunch. Leftover stuffed eggplant with not-so-dirty rice. Pretty good… not roll-on-the-floor-in-ecstasy good as she claims, but rather nice.
