revised Labour Day weekend plans

Nevermind that, I’m only going as far as Pender Harbour (see below). No good places to stay in Egmont that were available, just some motels. Shoulda booked earlier, I guess. I booked a room in a nice relaxing B&B (it’s a geodesic dome!) that has private entrance, ensuite, hot tub, etc. [...]

weird concert

Yesterday James and I went to see his friend Josh’s band King Crab at the Lamplighter. WEIRD! They are a bunch of dorks. But talented dorks that play funky music. Josh looked like one of the kids I hung out with in grade 9 (circa 1996 if you must know) but [...]

Labour Day weekend plans

I’m going to bike the lower Sunshine Coast. See below. James may have to work some that weekend - they’re switching their servers around and he has to make sure they’re running smoothly all weekend. But if he can’t come I’ll go by myself and it’ll be great. woo!

a song James composed

Roughly to the tune of 99 Red Balloons:
You didn’t eat the fish
because it was swimming in a dish
You subsist on plant fibre
and you are not a driver
though sometimes you drive me crazy
other times you are just lazy

jam

So James’ mom gave me several containers of frozen strawberry products a few weeks ago. The first was labelled “fruit slush” and was intended to be eaten frozen. The second looked the same so I actually didn’t bother to read the label and just ate it. Had a different texture and was [...]

wedding

Well I didn’t catch the bouquet, but James caught the garter. The groom was aiming for him though.

feeling pampered

You know, with all my discomfort with whoring myself out to the corporate world, there’s something to be said for special occasion company lunches. Like today. Office manager’s last day since she’s going back to school, and we wanted a little thank-you party. Two and a half hour lunch at a swanky [...]

another song

When James wakes up, if it’s not via an alarm and not too early, he is generally exuding bonhomie like it’s going out of style. This morning while cuddling me he sang me this:
You are warm as a tepid bunny
with or without money
because you are GOOOOOOD [high note] to me…. [whispers] and loving.
We walked [...]

reunion!

I didn’t write much last night because I was tired. So here’s about my weekend in case you wanted to know.
First time visiting the prairies for me. Friday morning off to Winnipeg. Four seats open but only three in business class! James’ dad takes the one in steerage and we have [...]

hey

I’m back from Manitoba. James’ family reunion was alright. We flew on his dad’s passes (he’s a pilot) and were in business class both ways. I’ve never flown business class before.
