As far as the church year goes, this is my favourite night. I love going to Easter eve vigil. It’s beautiful and mysterious, and dark and light at the same time. I love the chants and the candlelight and I love the vision of the dry bones passage from Ezekiel. I love the concept of temporary death resulting in a new kind of life.
James bought me a dark chocolate Lindt bunny, and himself a milk chocolate one. They both have little bells tied on the ribbon around their neck. When I got home and started making food for the potluck tomorrow, he came over, put them on the counter, and started making them talk to each other by shaking the little bells. Then he left them in a kissing position and bunny-hopped to the bathroom with me so we could brush our teeth together.
How could you not love this guy??
