More adventures in labret land

It's at the crusty itchy stage. So I'm at work and there's dried lymph. I can't be in the can constantly with hot compresses, so whenever I smile or laugh, I can feel the crust sort of… cracking apart… GROSS.

And check out this mess. I decided to change out the stud for a shorter one tonight, since my lip hasn't swelled much at all and the current one's driving me nuts.

Here are my materials: a 14g cbr and a shorter 14g stud with drop-down external threading in a shot glass full of purell, along with assorted paper towels, water for rinsing, astroglide, hot washcloth, and eventually a pair of tweezers.

Washed my hands, made a little hot compress for a few minutes, and went to work on the disk of the current stud (#1 henceforth) with absolutely NO luck. This is plan A since the disk of stud #2 does not come off, and I want to take #1 out and put #2 in smoothly. So for Plan B I went to work on the front ball, and with the help of some tweezers wrapped in a bit of paper towel, eventually got it off. I decided to try the CBR first instead of the stud. No good, it's too big and when I close my mouth it pushes down on the piercing.

So I had an idea and check to see if the drop-down threading on stud #2 will screw into the internal stud #1, and it does, almost all the way. Take the ring out the other way and follow it with stud #1 from the front this time, then screw stud #2 on inside my mouth, and pull stud #1 back out, all the while being reminded that astroglide tastes like shit.

Unfortunately stud #2 is just a tiny bit too short. Stud #1 was fully visible, but that means that a millimetre or two of threading was still not emerging. So I had to put everything back to the way it was, and either see if my lip will get thinner or go shopping again. Boo
