i was in a utopian sort of tropical place and i saw this picture in my mind which was from the near future of a guy on a little tiny surfboard flying off some water.
and then i was there, with the guy… he was some kind of aragorn-like figure. it was before that picture, which we were supposed to… recreate i guess. so he and this girl (who was stark naked) and i set off to do that. it was at the top of a waterfall on a river that was going so fast it was like waterskiing almost. so we had our little surfboard things, more like flutterboards actually, flying along the river… and when we got to the waterfall we flew off and soared around for a bit, and then landed in this meadow.
but we knew we had to hide from the shadow, since the utiopian setting was a bit of a front really. it seemed very threatening… it looked nice but felt evil, you know? so we went to hide, and the girl went inside, but the hero-type figure and i found his mother outside where we wanted to hide. but we both blacked out.
when i woke up there was a baby there, and the mom was telling the guy that it was his but it was stillborn. he wasn't quite getting it so i picked it up. the scary thing was that if you said “i love you” to the baby it would open its eyes and say “i love you” back, even though it was dead. i was really freaked out and decided the best thing was to throw it away, i guess that was like the normal thing to do with dead babies. so i put my other hand under its back to toss it into the bushes, but it made this awful face and bit my arm and held on so i couldn't throw it away. i dropped it on the ground, and it rolled up like one of those rolly bugs that roll up when you touch them, so it just landed without any harm.
so i figured that it was evil, somehow in league with the shadow, and i knew that the guy wouldn't listen because it's his baby. that's pretty much the end of the weird part. i was figuring out how to convince him it was evil and how to get rid of it when it was time for breakfast, so i went inside and had a hardboiled egg. then i woke up.
